I have a student visa but do not want to study, Am I leagal under UK law??

hello every one, i am an albanian national and have been studying in the UK for the past six years and i just graduated from a BA degree. Now i have applied and have been accepted for a Master degree.I need to extend my student visa in order to remain in the UK, however i have past the thrid interview for a job i really want to do and i think i might get it. Now i have the student visa for the master program but if I get the job I would like to work for one year before engaging into further studying. What would my emigation status be if I have a student visa but i am not studying???
