Visa Supporting Documents
-
Does anyone know if when providing the supporting documents to my fiance for his UK fiance/spouse visa application, do they have to be notorised and have an apostille on for the embassy to accept them?
Any help would be gratefully received!!14 Sep 2008, 11:38 worried person

Hi there
As i have just applied for my wife in may 2008 the application was refused on the basis that
a)The accomodation letter made by a local government representative (a local councillor) on council letter headed paper did not state the number of rooms....
WHICH IT CLEARLY DID AND WAS OVERSEEN BY THE ECO.
b) That the documents i supplied was not the originals but photocopies.
UNTRUE!!!! AS I SUBMITTED ALL ORIGINALS WITH A EXTRA SET OF PHOTOCOPIES.
Answer to your question is.
All documents have to be the originals and the only document`s that has to be attesteted by a commisioner of oath is the actual sponsor form, and photo copies of the sponsors passport. as these documents cannot be sent as originals and need to be witnessed by a solicitor and signed by him/herself.
I hope this information was usefull to you
