Electricity
-
Hi
I'm moving to UK in some months and I have a question about electricity; is it possible that an electricity company in UK puts 220/240V in the house? I mean, not in every plug separately but in all plugs of the house?
I'd be very grateful for any answer.

Power in the UK is 220/240V
Not sure I understand your question properly.
The standard in the UK is now 230V (it used to be 240V, while Europe was on 220V. I think, this is right. Anyway, the important thing is all electrical equipment is sold with the 220/240V rating, meaning it can be used in the UK and Europe.
I think you are maybe a little confused on how voltage works. This is delivered to all plugs in a house at the same level and is not shared between the plugs.Anonymous 06 Dec 2005, 10:03 - Report
