Tourist visa for Italy

• My aunt is visiting us in the UK from india and has a 2yr UK multi UK visa. My family are looking to come over to Itaky for long weekend and would like to bring her along. Can she get a visa for this trip from the UK Italian consulate. Their website mentions that you need a 'residence permit' from the country your in.
