need advice on how to disprove marriage contracted abroad (by two Italian residents with different nationalities)
-
I am writing on behalf of a friend whose father (an Italian resident but a US citizen) supposedly married a Philippine citizen (Italian resident likewise) in the Philippines. The marriage in the Philippines, although evidenced by a marriage certificate duly registered with the national civil registry office, appears to be violative of Philippine laws, as the supposed cohabitation was not compliant with the legal requirements. His father has passed away and my friend has been having problems with the alleged "wife" who refuses to leave the house of the decedent. What are the requirements under the laws of Italy as to how my friend could prove that the marriage in the Philippines is invalid?
