Opening a bank account in Germany
Next September I am going to Germany. I will be there for 10 months (studyng). Now I must fill in the residence formular, pay three months in advance and... give them the number of a bank account in Germany.
The problem is I have no bank account there. I have tried to open one in a Deutsche Bank branche here in Spain, but since it is DB S.A.... the account is spanish.
What can I do?? I am supposed to have a german bank acount in 10 days!!!
Thanks,

Try Citibank
As far as I know, you can open an international account there. The other option is to open an online account, for example at Consors or Comdirect.

Banking hassle
Two options
i) you give the residence a international bank account number IBAN XXXXXX and tell the residence you will update the details when your German account is operational.
ii) ask Deutsche Bank to organise you a German account from wherever you are - if you smile and ask nicely, there should be no reason they should not help you.Anonymous 21 Jun 2005, 11:06 - Report
